Term 3 Week 2 Monday 20th July
Our Prayer This Week
From the Principal
Dear parents, guardians and students,
We have had a very settled beginning to term 3 with the children loving being with their friends again and learning at school. We are, however, all wary of the possibility of further restrictions in our region and even the possible announcement of a resumption of remote learning sometime in the future, heaven forbid. In light of this we are working on formulating best practice to cope with this situation between the other schools in our region. This will make us more prepared and able to provide even further support to parents if this situation eventuates. We are missing having our parents in the school and feel quite a disconnect from you all, however this is still seen as an important way to protect the children in our care.
2021 Enrolments Open
Our 2021 enrolments are now open and we invite families to contact the school to discuss the transition for our prospective Foundation students for next year, for an enrolment form or this can be downloaded via the link below. With limited adult access to the school at the moment, we have created a virtual tour video on our web site and placed a newspaper article in our local papers. We are working with the Mortlake Kindergarten to come up with a safe and meaningful transition process during these difficult times.
School Closure Day
On Friday the 31st of July we will conduct a school closure day to allow staff to continue to work on our School Wide Positive Behaviours curriculum. This is a vital element for the wellbeing of the students in our school and we are working hard to complete this task.
There will be no school for students on this day.
Birthdays
Leo Gardiner 25th July
Carl Lehmann 25th July
Parent / Teacher Interviews
Due to our current circumstances we will need to conduct our Parent/Teacher interviews via telephone next Tuesday the 28th of July. The teachers will make each child's learning ladder available prior to the call and this will help convey their current learning progress. To make a time for your call there will be a booking option on PAM later this week.
Head Lice Again
Once again there have been some cases of head lice in the school so we are asking all parents to check their children’s' hair and treat any cases immediately. This ongoing problem can only be addressed if all families participate in this treatment to prevent further spread.
SAC Meeting
We have a SAC meeting scheduled for Wednesday 29th of July. Due to an increase in virus threat in regional Victoria we will need to conduct this meeting virtually. We will contact the council members to discuss how this will be managed.
Classroom Awards
Congratulation to our award winners this week.
