Term 4 Week 4 Monday 25th October
Our Prayer This Week
From the Principal
Dear parents and members of our community,
It is with great joy and a sense of relief that we begin this week with all children attending school and we pray that this continues for the remainder of the school year. Remote learning has taught us many things about our children and about ourselves but we are as glad to see the end of it as you as parents/teachers must be. Although they are looking a little weary already from constant full days of school, the children are loving the company of their friends and the challenges of learning at school again.
Book Week and Book Fair
After a long postponement we are excited about holding book week this week. The children have completed their wish lists and we will be holding the book fair and the costume parade on Wednesday morning at 9am. Parents are welcome to be part of the parade from the path on west street to view the parade and then to purchase books from the book fair. We will be live streaming on facebook for those unable to attend.
We will be cashless this year so parents can either pay by card on the day or add the purchases to their next school fee invoice. If you are unable to attend you can either ring, text or write a note in your child's diary indicating which books you would like to purchase.
Sad News
I would like to share with our community the sad news that Frank's wife, Edna passed away peacfully last week. We are keeping Frank and his family in our thoughts and prayers.
Entering Our School
Our current school operations guidelines still require us to limit the number of people attending the school to protect the wellbeing of our students. If you have essential business that can not be done over the phone, you are permitted to enter the school as long as you check in using the QR code and display proof of vaccination to office staff. Please have this available as you enter to allow us to complete the process efficently. Unvaccinated adults are not permitted to stay more than 15 minutes in the school or come in contact with staff and students.
Melbourne Cup Day
Melbourne Cup is not one of our gazetted public holidays so school will be open as usual next week and we will celebrate the race with a sweep and some fun here on Tuesday. Giddy Up.
Communicating with School
We are living in a time of multiple communication options and we enjoy that parents are able to utilise many of these to inform the school of the individual arrangements. We would ask that parents use the PAM option to record changes to bus arrangements, excursion permissions and school absentee notices as this feeds directly into our admin system and avoids miscommunication. Text messages and written notes do not come through our school office and do, on occasions, get misplaced and this can cause confusion.
