Term 2 Week 10 Monday 15th June
Our Prayer This Week
The feast of Corpus Christi (The Body of Christ) was celebrated last Thursday
From the Principal
Dear parents, guardians and students,
We have settled remarkably quickly back into the routine of school life and "at school" learning. The children are enjoying each other's company immensely and the staff are loving talking to faces rather than to screens. We are noticing lots of yawns and tired eyes by the afternoon and suggest that extra sleep may be needed as the children settle into the structure of getting up for school and a long day of learning.
Birthdays
Liam McKenzie 19th June
St Colman's Cross Country
During isolation the date for our school cross country came and went. Our local sports association would still like to run a regional event early next term. To allow us to send representatives to this we will have our school event next Friday the 26th of June on the last day of term. We will begin at 10am at Tea Tree Lake and finish around 1pm. The children will need to wear their sport uniform and their house colour on the day. As we missed our opportunity to have a coin line this year, we will finish with our hot chip lunch for everyone at the lake, weather permitting. Parents are still not welcome to be part of the day but watching from the car may be an option you wish to take up.
School Fee Reduction
In this difficult time of the pandemic we have decided to suspend our volunteer levy for 2020. This will mean a $200 reduction on the balance of fees shown in the statement that will be sent out this term. With so few opportunities to volunteer at school this year and no end to this in sight, we have decided to support families in this way.
Cold and Flu Symptoms
We have a number of students with some cold and flu symptoms being kept away from school at the moment. As we are still in pandemic precautions mode, this is a wise course of action to prevent the sharing of colds and causing fears of coronavirus-like symptoms. We would prefer they missed some school days to recover before returning to school.
Classroom Awards
Congratulation to our award winners this week.
National Consistant Collection of Data
The NCCD provides a funding model for students requiring additional support at school that will allow schools to fully respond to the needs of each individual. This process is clearly outlined in this parent information sheet below. If you require further information please click the link to download the document.
Animals Wanted
We are looking for some donated animals to put in our school farm paddock. We would like 3 sheep or 2 calves or some llamas or pigs or goats or dragons or unicorns etc. Please contact the school if you can help.
