Term 2 Week 5 Monday 17th May
Our Prayer This Week
From the Principal
Dear parents and members of our community,
Next week is Catholic Education Week and this year we are celebrating 200 years of Catholic Education in Australia. We will discuss this with the children this week and celebrate with a liturgy and a network activity day next week.
District Cross Country
The District Cross Country was run last Friday in Noorat in very trying conditions for the students and the staff. Our representatives all did a wonderful job and enjoyed the opportunity to compete against students from other schools.
Open Days
During Catholic Education Week next week, we are inviting prospective and current families to come through the school to see us in action. Restrictions on school tours have lifted so families are now welcome to book a tour at the school office to help make their decision with enrolments of students in 2022.
Kinder Visit
We are excited by the prospect of a visit from the students and staff of the Mortlake Kindergarten after not seeing them as a group last year. The first of our transition visits will be on Monday 31st of May.
Meals on Wheels This Week
St Colman's School is rostered on for Meals on Wheels this week. Thank you to the families who have volunteered for this vital means of connecting with our local community. The Grade 6 students will be rostered on to accompany these parents to each of the houses.
Monday - Steve Parker
Tuesday - Kate Carmody
Wednesday - Jo Dolling
Thursday - Sam Spokes
Friday - Jo Wallis
Awards This Week
With our cross country runners away on Friday, we didn't have awards this week. We presented these four absentee winners from last week at assembly this morning.
30 Years Celebration
Congratulations to Jenny Stapleton on being presented with her certificate for 30 years of service in Catholic Education in the Ballarat diocese at a special dinner in Ballarat on Friday evening.
Staff Absence
Mrs Moloney is away this week on sick leave so Michelle Bourke will be helping out for the first 4 days of the week. We also have a student teacher in the room, Elorraine Saunders, who will be helping maintain our regular program in Shandell's absence.
