Term 1 Week 8 Monday 15th March
Our Prayer This Week
From the Principal
Dear parents and members of our community,
I will be undergoing surgery this Wednesday to repair my hamstring and I am not sure when I will be able to return to school. Rosie will be at the helm in my absence and I know she will be well supported by the staff and parents while in this role. I would like to thank those who have expressed their care and concern during this time.
School Photos
Our 2021 school photos will be held this Wednesday 17th of March beginning at 10:30am. As it is a Wednesday we will have all Foundation students at school on this day and we will move their rest day to Thursday the 18th. We ask that all students are in their normal summer uniform for the day and NOT their sports clothes. We will still run our normal Wednesday program around the photos. Each child will need an individual envelope on the day and family photo envelopes are available from the school office.
Swimming Success
Congratulations to Pippa and Ava who competed in the District swimming sports in Warrnambool last Friday and have both qualified for the Division Swimming sports in Horsham this Friday. Pippa will compete in the backstroke and breststroke and Ava will compete in the butterfly event.
Athletics Success
After the Athletic sports last Friday, we have 8 students who have qualified to compete in the combined St Colman's and St Thomas' team in Camperdown on the 31st of March. Congratulations to Johno, Ava, Pippa, Billie, Ashlee, Kate, Noah and Will C. We wish them every success on the day.
Gardening Fun
The Middle class had an opportunity to spend some time in our school garden on Friday where they harvested the ripe vegetables and weeded the garden beds. They are now ready to plant a Winter crop and they are looking for a donation of a bale of straw to mulch the garden beds. If you are able to help, please contact Mrs Moloney at school.
Awards
Congratulations to our award winners for this week
Footy Tipping
St Colman's footy tipping has been a fun fundraising activity for many years. Participants have, not only have the opportunity to win great prizes, but also the chance to compete against friends, family and community members for the title of best footy tipper. I encourage parents and children to get involved in this school activity. The flyer below has instructions on how to get involved or to roll on your details from last year.
SAC Meeting
Our first School Advisory Council meeting for the year will be tonight the 15th of March at 7pm in the staffroom. Thank you to the council members for their patience and flexability with the meeting arrangements.
