Term 1 Week 6 Monday 1st March
Our Prayer This Week
From the Principal
Dear parents and members of our community,
We are delighted to have a new student join us today and the imminent arrival of three more over the next few weeks will take our numbers to 53 students. It is great to have new friends in the Middle and Junior rooms.

Project Compassion
Every year, countless people turn Lent into a demonstration of faith, love and generosity through supporting the work Caritas do in impoverished communities around the world. Each year we support their work by having our "Coin Line" challenge where the class that brings the most coins to make the longest coin line, wins a hot chip lunch. Project Compassion coin boxes will be sent home this week and families can decide how they will raise the money to be put into these boxes.
Extra Sports Practice
The results of our long jump need to be submitted before sport practice on Wednesday so we are asking the Middle and Senior students to bring their runners to school tomorrow Tuesday 2nd. They can slip these on after lunch for the jumping competition.
Book Club Change
Scholastic have provided school parents with an online option for purchasing books via their website or app. We would appreciate families transitioning to this method of purchasing to reduce the paper based ordering system and cash coming into the office. Simply visit the Scholastic LOOP site https://mybookclubs.scholastic.com.au/Parent/Login.aspx to register or download the app and register here. You will need your own username and password and to register your child and select St Colman's school. If you have any difficulty with this process, please contact the school. We will still send home the paper catalogues at this stage.
Weekly Awards
Congratulations to our weekly award winners
Zoe F, Billie, Scarlett, Harley, Zac, Kaison, Charlotte A, Xavier, Steff, Nat, Liam and Ryan
Athletics Sports
Our athletics sports day will be run this Friday the 5th of March with St Thomas' at the Terang Recreation reserve beginning at around 9:30am and finishing around 2pm. Children will need to wear their sport uniform and a shirt of their house colour. They will need plenty to eat and drink on the day and sun protection. There is food available for purchase on the day if you wish to use this facility. This is a wonderful day of challenges and successes and the children love the opportunity to compete against others in their age groups. The day requires parents to volunteer to run events and supervise children. If you are able to help, please contact the school as soon as possible to offer your services.
Welcome
We are delighted to welcome a new student, Piper, to St Colman's today. She is in foundation and has settled quickly into the Junior room. We hope that Piper enjoys the many opportunities that our school has to offer.
SAC Meeting
Our first School Advisory Council meeting for the year will be next Wednesday the 10th of March at 7pm in the staffroom. Could members please monitor their email for documentation sent out prior to the meeting.
