Term 3 Week 6 Monday 17th August
Our Prayer This Week
From the principal
Dear parents, guardians and students,
After our first full week of remote learning we are hearing some very positive feedback on how families are coping with the resumption of having a classroom in the lounge room. It is vital to settle into a rhythm of learning now so that this can be maintained for however long this situation is to last. Last time we began well and faded as the term progressed. We are hoping to maintain great learning right up to the end of Term 3.
Remote Learning
The feedback for the way we are approaching remote learning is that parents and children are appreciating the opportunity to video conference each morning to set out the tasks for the day and then the opportunity to share learning in our afternoon sessions.
The Middle and Senior students have moved from Google Hangouts to Google Meet to allow better presentation of learning material. Well done to parents, students and teachers for making this technical shift mid-way through remote learning.
The Senior students are doing all of their work on the computer and are able to submit their work online directly to their teacher. This makes the optional afternoon catch-up far less important for them and many people are opting not to join. We will monitor this throughout the week and decide if it is no longer needed. The Junior and Middle classes will need to continue these to give the students the opportunity to share book work and the learning that has taken place over the day.
Father's Day 2020
Father's Day 2020 is going to be like no other. Just like Mother's day, we will not be able to celebrate the day together with a breakfast, or fun activities at school. To support families with activities to help make this day special at home, we are sending home some Father's Day packs. Any children at school this week will bring them home and the rest will be delivered on Friday when we deliver the Junior learning packs. This will give the children plenty of time to get them done before September 6th.

Gardening
Last week the students at school were busy filling the garden bed at the front of the school with new succulent plants. We will continue to add to this to create an attractive facade to the school.
